Pan Steak Dinner, Saturday, May 4, 2008. A great dinner, a lot of work, but, was it worth it!
Cub Scout Pine Wood Derby at AUMC Mar 08
Our Youth back from Spring Fling at Houghton College. Connie won a WII Computer Game Controller and donated it to the Youth Group. I tried to get it away from Sara, but she says, "No Way!"
Dale's van after colliding with deer on way to Houghton. Fortunately, no one was injured. One of the youths mother, Mrs. Nunn , came to our rescue and transported the four youths to Houghton! Unfortunately, for the deer, it was killed! It made it to the center of the other east bound lane. Someone reported it and the troopers were there in minutes. After doing an accident report , they released the van, and Peg and I were able to drive it back to Avoca.

The breakfast was enjoyed by all and the tables were beautifully decorated!

Congratulations to Bill and Sharron Heard. They were awarded the Special Recognition Award by the United Methodist Women on January 27, 2008. Bill and Sharron are always there when there are special jobs to be done around the church. Especially, when it is time for the monthly Breakfast for the Community. An event which they have coordinated for years!

Everyone enjoyed the Charlie Payne Family Band at the Gazebo Saturday Evening during the Church's 10th Anniversary Celebration! Bill Snyder making announcements at the Celebration, as Pastor Sande looks on.

Carol had a little trouble finding "Children" for the Children's time for the July 1 service, so some of the "Young Adults" had to help out!
